How To Donate Food, Clothes, Money To Oklahoma Wildfire Victims

Several wildfires broke out across the state on Friday. Many Oklahomans are wondering what they can do to help those who lost their homes and belongings in the fires, as well as the firefighters battling the blazes.

Oklahoma County commissioners have established several collection sites for donations of food, clothing, appliances, furniture, bedding and toys for fire victims. The Christmas Connection will oversee collections and disbursements to families forced from their homes by the fires.

Oklahoma County Commissioners Brian Maughan and Willa Johnson will be accepting donations for Luther fire victims until 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, at the following locations in Oklahoma City:

• District One maintenance barn at 7321 N.E. 23rd

• District Two maintenance barn at 7105 South Anderson

• District Three maintenance barn at 11500 North Hudson

• The Sheriff's Fleet Center at S.E. 29th and Midwest Boulevard.

Donations for victims in the Cleveland County wildfire can be dropped off at the Church of Christ in Noble located at 101 N Main St. in Noble.

From 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, you can drop off bottled water or Gatorade at the News 9 studios, located at 7401 North Kelley in Oklahoma City.

News 9 will make sure your donation gets to a fire department in need.
