The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation are investigating the beating of two men either late Thursday or early Friday morning.

Authorities say 51-year-old Owen White was taken to a Tahlequah hospital for wounds to his head. He was then taken to a Tulsa hospital.

When sheriff's deputies went to White's home in the 19000 block of East 765 Road, they found 49-year-old Charles Shade who had also been assaulted.

Shade was taken to a Tahlequah hospital where he was treated and released.

White remains in the hospital.

The sheriff's office has asked the OSBI to assist them with their investigation.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and the OSBI are asking if anyone has information about the assault or saw White and or Shade Thursday night to call 800-522-8017.
