SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -

Oklahomans are feeding the hungry at Tulsa Area Red Cross shelters following the weekend's devastating wildfires.

The Sand Springs Shelter at 101 West 38th Street is feeding about 150 in-house and sending out about 1,000 meals, according to Pastor Don Tabberer of the Sand Springs First Methodist Church.

"It's a huge food effort," he said Monday morning. Red Cross and the Southern Baptist Disaster Response Team are in place in Sand Springs.

People who have had losses in the fires can come in and sign up for financial and relocation assistance from the Red Cross.

"We're offering overnight housing for as long as it's needed," Tabberer said.
