Future Farmers of America chapters across Green Country are pitching in this evening after hearing how Agriculture teacher Alan Smith lost his home in Oak Grove.

Many are selling homegrown produce to raise money for all fire victims.

The Owasso FFA chapter sold watermelons Thursday at Owasso High School at 86th Street North and 129th East Avenue.

"As an FFA Chapter, we a lot of times, want to be involved in the community as much as possible, and this was just a great opportunity for us," said Owasso Senior Zadie Cook.

Owasso Sophomore Katelyn Miller said, "People get excited when they are given the opportunity to do something great for people, and I think we're just wanting to give them that opportunity."

This Owasso chapter had raised $800 by lunchtime.

They'll be selling again Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
