CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -

An Oklahoma veteran has lost his best friends to thieves, and he hopes someone can help bring him home.

Specialist Phillip Ortiz was at the hospital for his nephew's birth, when someone kicked in his door and stole some electronics and his bulldog, Sarge.

Ortiz bought Sarge with the money he saved from basic training.

And with no wife or kids, Ortiz said Sarge is just like family.

"Breaking into people's houses is the lowest of low you can get and taking a man's pet, is lower than that," Ortiz said.

Ortiz said he hopes someone recognizes Sarge and gets him home.
