TULSA, Oklahoma -

A Tulsa man and woman were arrested after a Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy stopped them for a traffic violation. The man, 33-year-old Damien Woods, was subdued with a Taser when he ran from the vehicle.

TCSO first stopped the pair's white Buick LaSabre after driver Lacy Deann Saulmon, 25, failed to signal a turn at 46th and North Peoria at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to arrest records.

There were five small children in the back seat of the car, and only one was in a proper child restraint, the deputy said in his report. Woods was in the passenger seat.

Saulmon, who was driving, told the deputy she did not have a driver's license. When the deputy went back to his patrol car to check out both adults, he saw Woods get out of the car and start running south on Kenosha.

"I then chased Woods to approximately 4400 North Kenosha Avenue where he tripped," the  arrest report states. "I then told Woods to stop or he would be Tased to which he did not comply.

"I then deployed my Taser striking Woods in the chest with both barbs to which he fell to the ground," the deputy said.

Authorities found a loaded Taurus revolver in the man's pocket. It had been stolen from a Tulsa gun dealer in 2007, the deputy reported.

He learned both Woods and Saulmon had outstanding warrants, and Saulmon had a suspended license. Although the car's tag had a 2013 decal, the officer learned the Buick's license plate was expired.

Both Saulmon and Woods have prior convictions, according to court records.

Woods was booked into Tulsa County Jail on complaints of possession of a firearm, concealing stolen property, obstructing a police officer and public intoxication.

Saulmon was booked on several traffic complaints including driving while suspended, driving without insurance verification, and failure to use proper child restraints.
