Teachers are gearing up for another nine months of lectures and tests, and one group is making sure they get off to a sweet start.

The Tulsa Alliance for Engineering passed out some candy to local math and science teachers at Booker T. Washington High School Tuesday. The Alliance says the future of America's engineers depends on educators.

"We can have the fanciest labs, the nicest buildings, but if we don't have engineering students to fill those then it doesn't matter," said Xan Black, coordinator for the Tulsa Alliance for Engineering.

The group said they wanted to make sure the teachers know their hard work is appreciated.
