A California truck driver is dead after his semi hits another semi's trailer on I-40 at U.S. Highway 69 early Wednesday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Charles Radic, 53, of Tulsa was entering I-40 from Highway 69 when he lost control, causing his semi to roll onto its side.

The OHP says Radic's truck trailer blocked the outside lane of westbound I-40.

A westbound semi driven by Sukhvir Bassie, 25, of Kingsburg, California hit the trailer, sending his semi into the median.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Wednesday near Checotah in McIntosh County.

Troopers say Radic was not injured. Bassie was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash continues.
