LEFLORE COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Police, Wednesday, remembered a K-9 officer, killed after just a year of service.

Investigators are still looking into the dog's death, but believe "Creed" was targeted because of his connection with the Panama Police Department.

According to officers, the two-year-old German Shepherd died protecting his handler's home.

There's a $1,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest in the case.

The Panama Police Department said, instead of mourning Creed's death, they are honoring his many accomplishments in such a short time.
