Oklahoma Movie Theatres Searched After Nationwide Bomb Threat

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -

Police departments in several Oklahoma communities investigated a bomb threat at their local Carmike Cinemas Friday morning. 

Authorities in Georgia said Carmike Cinema's corporate office received a "generic" bomb threat Friday morning, leading police departments across the country to check their local Carmike Cinema. 

Carmike Cinemas has movie theatres in Ardmore, Cushing, Duncan, Lawton, Muskogee, Ponca City, Shawnee and Stillwater.  Nationwide, the chain has 236 theaters in 35 states.

News On 6 contacted police in all eight Oklahoma communities.  All but Ardmore and Duncan said they had responded and found nothing.
