One of Oklahoma's Own was recognized Monday for her innovative teaching.

Fort Gibson High School art teacher Amber Lobaugh is the only teacher in the state to win a $2,000-grant. She was awarded the "Unsung Heroes Grant" by financial services company ING.

Lobaugh's winning program expands the current visual arts program into an art history course.

Her ultimate goal is to develop the curriculum into an Advanced Placement class.

Lobaugh will now be considered for the top three national winners who will get up to $25,000 to develop the program.
