TULSA, Oklahoma -

They pounced onto the scene back in April, but the Tulsa Zoo's new jaguar cubs still don't have names.

You can help name the cubs. Now through September 7, go to the Tulsa Zoo website and vote on your favorite names for the cubs.

Each of the 10 names on the list represents the jaguars' geographic origin and Mayan culture.

The winning names will be revealed on September 12th.

You must vote on the zoo's web site, but here's a sneak peak at the choices:

  • Ah Tabai: Master of the hunt
  • Balam: Jaguar in Mayan language
  • Hunahpu: Controller of the sun
  • Xbalanque: Master of the night, thrower of stars across the sky
  • Xaman Ek: Guide of merchants
  • Kawil: Controller of power
  • Yum Caax: Controller of nature and wilderness
  • Kabah: Strong hand
  • Chac: Controller of rain and thunder
  • Tepeu: Master of sky and creation

The jaguar cubs can be seen at the Tulsa Zoo's Tropical American Rainforest exhibit. They are the first jaguar cubs ever to be born at the zoo, and are among the only 43 jaguars currently in U.S. zoos.
