State of Oklahoma Says 1,000 New 'Quality Jobs' Created By 7 Companies

Five companies in Tulsa, plus one in Sand Springs and another in Bartlesville, are adding 1,013 workers under Oklahoma's Quality Jobs program, the department of commerce said in a news release on Friday.

The Oklahoma Quality Jobs program allows businesses creating new jobs to receive an incentive to locate or expand in the state.

According to state officials, five Tulsa firms are part of the boon. NGL Energy Partners is adding 63 jobs; Gunnebo Johnson is adding 57 jobs; New Dominion is adding 101; a new company, Nemaha Oil & Gas is hiring 75 workers; and Apache Corporation is adding 75 jobs.

A new firm in Sand Springs, Piping Enterprise Company, is hiring 180 workers, the release said.

In Bartlesville, Phillips 66, which spun off from ConocoPhillips in May, had 455 new jobs connected to the Quality Jobs program, the release said. A company spokesperson said "this is a continuation of the ConocoPhillips program, which we as Phillips 66 must reapply for in order to finish out the contract. These jobs are our proportional share as a result of repositioning."

In addition, the Dewey firm DIW Engineering & Fabrication has added 28 jobs through the Small Employer Quality Jobs program, the release said.

The programs are administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and provide quarterly cash payments (of up to 5 percent of new taxable payroll) directly to the employer for up to 10 years.
