CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Federal Emergency Management Agency wants to make sure all victims of last month's Creek County wildfires are applying for federal help.

FEMA is asking for those who have insurance or those who don't believe they qualify to register for assistance.

Officials say folks shouldn't prejudge their eligibility, because help may be available for specific needs other than housing.

Aid for other counties in Oklahoma was denied.

Governor Mary Fallin filed a formal appeal Thursday for FEMA to reconsider denying aid to Oklahoma, Payne, and Cleveland counties, which lost about 300 homes to wildfire, between them.
