Tulsa's Newest Park Opens In The Brady Arts District

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Friday is a big day for the Brady Arts District in downtown Tulsa. The city's newest park, Guthrie Green, will be officially opened Friday afternoon with a variety of events planned through Sunday.

The Tulsa Area United Way's Day of Caring kick-off ceremony was held at the park Friday morning.

The park is named after Woody Guthrie, Oklahoma's iconic folk singer.

Guthrie Green will be officially dedicated at 3 p.m. Friday.

Music and entertainment will last until 10:45 p.m.

On Saturday, a puppet show kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with more entertainment following until 11 p.m. It all resumes on Sunday at noon and ends with a fireworks show Sunday evening at about 8:45 p.m.

Guthrie Green is located at North Cincinnati Avenue and East Brady Street, which is right across the street from the new Griffin Communications Media Center that will soon be the home of News On 6.

It was built with private funds, which will also be used to maintain it.
