OOLOGAH, Oklahoma -

A truck driver died after a rig rolled over on Highway 88 on the south end of Oologah Dam.

The truck was southbound and had crossed the dam when it failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway and rolled over, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Bobby Hill of Sarcoxie, Missouri.

An ambulance took Hill to St. John Hospital in Tulsa where he was pronounced dead of massive injuries, the trooper states in his report.

Images from SkyNews6 show that the truck's cab was heavily damaged. The truck knocked down at least one utility pole. Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative sent a crew to repair the damaged pole.

The cause of the wreck was unsafe speed on a curve, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Hill, who was in apparently normal condition at the time of the wreck, was wearing a seat belt, the report states.
