TULSA, Oklahoma -

Wednesday, students at Mizel Jewish Community Day School welcomed dozens of our country's newest Americans.

Students sang patriotic songs and recited the Pledge of Allegiance, while gaining a new appreciation for their own citizenship.

Thirty new Americans took the oath, something that many of them said was well worth the wait.

"It just feels good to say, you know? ‘I'm American.' Especially since I went to high school here, went to college here—It feels like I finally belong," said Sadaf Khalid.

This the first time the school has held a naturalization ceremony.

There were 16 different nations represented at the event.
