The City of Tulsa will change to a new trash system in October.

Thursday, city councilors were told that the delivery of new trash carts is more than a week behind schedule, but should be finished by October 1.

New carts are still being delivered to Tulsa from the factory.

The city is delivering separate trash and recycling carts, and they can be put into use as soon as they arrive.

After October 1, the new carts are the only ones the city will empty on trash day.
