TULSA, Oklahoma -

Breast cancer survivors and their supporters flooded downtown Tulsa for the Komen Race for the Cure Saturday morning. Overcast skies and cool temperatures marked the 16th annual Tulsa event.

The timed 5K race began at 7:30 a.m., followed by the untimed 5K at 9 a.m. and the 1 mile fun run at 10 a.m.

Tulsa weather stayed cool and dry during the race, according to News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone.

Most of the storm activity moved east by starting time, and temperatures were in the 60s - great running weather.

The "can't miss" event was at 8:15 p.m. when survivors - dressed in signature pink - triumphantly parade. News On 6 was there with Six in the Morning anchor and breast cancer survivor LeAnne Taylor leading the charge.

"This is a journey that I've been traveling for nine years," LeAnne Taylor said from ONEOK Field during a special live broadcast.

"Today's a day of celebration, to say the least."

There are two and a half million survivors across the U.S., but the battle against breast cancer is ongoing.
