TULSA, Oklahoma -

An elderly woman was seriously burned at a north Tulsa residence early Monday. Tulsa Police, Fire and EMSA medics were called to the 2200 block of North Denver at about 7:30 a.m.

"There was an occupant of this residence who had been on fire," said Sergeant Kathy Reynolds of the Tulsa Police Department. "The flames had been put out."

The 72-year-old woman was transported by EMSA to a local burn unit in serious condition. Reynolds said the woman was burned over about 50 percent of her body.

Tulsa Fire was still investigating at the Reservoir Hill home. Reynolds said the investigation was still in its preliminary stages, but they had found no reason to suspect foul play.
