Tulsa Police: Bright Sun, Illegally Parked Car Equal Rear-End Crash

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police say a driver is blaming the sun for a crash Wednesday morning.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m.

The driver told police she was eastbound in the 7300 block of East 4th Place when the sun made it difficult to see a car parked illegally in the road.

Police say her Ford SUV was traveling at 35 mph at the time of the crash.  The impact sent the parked car about 60 yards down the street, demolishing it in the process.

The driver of the parked car was cited by Tulsa Police for parking in a traffic lane.

Three children in the SUV were taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital. Police say all three are expected to be okay.
