Red Flag Fire Warning - National Weather Service
NORMAN, Oklahoma -
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag fire warning for the western half of Oklahoma and says the fire danger is critical.
The warning runs from noon until 7 p.m. Monday.
News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says windy and warm conditions are expected Monday with highs soaring back into the lower or mid-90s.
The warning area extends westward from to the Texas state line and from the Kansas state line to the north to the Oklahoma-Texas border to the south.
Much of that area is also under a burn ban issued by Governor Mary Fallin earlier this month.
Rain could provide some relief by the end of the week as Crone explains in his weather blog on NewsOn6.com.
