One man is dead and another faces a first-degree murder charge, after a deadly weekend shooting in Creek County.

Robert Wayne Travis, 48, was killed at about 1:30 Sunday morning, September 23. Travis was shot once in the chest with a handgun.

Investigators with the Creek County Sheriff's Office say Travis was with friends at the Oaks Mobile Home Park off West 85th Street.

Deputies arrested William Buck Rodgers who lives in the mobile home park. Investigators say Rodgers had complained the group, including Travis, was making too much noise and an argument followed.

"A verbal exchange began over basically noise complaints," said Creek County Undersheriff John Davis. "The verbal exchange escalated into the shooting."

Rodgers, 24, faces a first degree murder charge. He's being held in the Creek County jail without bond.

A friend of the victim said the situation never should have escalated into something that could turn deadly.
