Honor Flight Takes Oklahoma WWII Veterans To National Memorial

Dozens of World War II veterans from Oklahoma flew to Washington, D.C. early Tuesday as part of the Oklahoma Honor Flights program.

Dozens of World War II veterans from Oklahoma flew to Washington, D.C. early Tuesday as part of the Oklahoma Honor Flights program.

News On 6 was there as they arrived at Tulsa International Airport for their morning flight.  Tulsa Police escorted the buses carrying the veterans to TIA. 

The veterans, numbering about 100, will visit the World War II, Vietnam, and Korean War memorials.

Oklahoma Honor Flights says the average age of the veterans going on this trip is 86, with a third of them over the age of 90.

They are scheduled to return to Tulsa late Tuesday evening
