OKLAHOMA CITY -
There was a bittersweet
surprise for one young Oklahoma City girl, Thursday.
The 6-year-old
girl has been through a lot but she's not letting it get her down. Now,
Friends, family, teachers and the Make-A-Wish foundation are joining forces to
create a memory she'll never forget.
Abria Glenn is an
amazing little girl. She just had surgery to remove a brain tumor and lost her
brother. On Thursday, she got a big surprise in front of the whole school.

Academy teacher Mrs. LaFave is also a wish granter for Make-A-Wish
"I'm not Mrs.
LaFave," she said. "I'm a purple fairy."
The "purple fairy"
is also a cancer survivor and made this surprise visit for a very special first
grader, Abria Glenn.
"This is Abria
Glenn," she told the school, "and she made a wish from Make-A-Wish to go to
Disney World and she's gonna go."
The family is
grateful for the trip to Disney, but they're also trying to heal their hearts.
"It's bittersweet.
She pretty much wished for what her brother would have wished for, so this is
his way of getting his wish as well as her," Abria's mother, Andria Glenn said.
Abria's big
brother, Gregory, died 16 months ago. He had the same type of tumor Abria just
had removed.
"What do you do
with him every night?" Andria asked Abria,
"Sleep with him,"
she said.
Now, the family
will take his memory and spirit with them to Disney.
"This is a great
school and the staff is wonderful. They do a lot for the kids," Abria's father,
Gregory Glenn Sr. said. "We're really grateful for our daughter will get her
wish granted."
"Thank you make a
wish and thank you Mrs. LaFave," the family said. "Thanks for prayers and
support we're making it and thank you so much."
The family's trip
to Disney World is scheduled for October.
And there is a way
for you to help grant a wish for a child, like Abria. On November 3 out at the
Zoo, there will be a "Walk for wishes". Amanda Taylor is the honorary chair of
it, so get a walking team together and come out.
