STEPHENS COUNTY, Oklahoma -
A Marlow woman was killed in a car accident on state highway
7 in Stephens County early Sunday morning.
The accident occurred just before 3 a.m. about a half mile
west of county road 294.
According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 25-year-old
Misty Eggers was heading eastbound on highway 7 in a 2005 Pontiac vehicle when she
hydroplaned and went off the roadway to the left.
The vehicle struck a concrete drainage ditch, pinning Eggers
for approximately two hours before being freed by the Velma Fire Department.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say speeding on wet roads was the most likely cause
of this accident. Eggers was not wearing a seatbelt.
