Tulsa's 20th-ranked men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to 25th-ranked SMU, Wednesday night at Westcott Field in Dallas, Texas. TU fell to 7-4 on the season and 2-1 in Conference USA, while the Mustangs moved to 7-2-2 overall and 3-0 in the league.

"We created enough chances and for the most part defended pretty well, but they did well with the chance that they created," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We had a little lapse defensively and they capitalized on it. Our effort was very good throughout the night, but we just didn't do enough to get the win. We will learn from this and get back and host our last non-conference game on Monday."

Brenden Lee scored the lone goal in the contest as he scored off a combination from Tyler Engel and Damian Rosales at the 50:54 mark to give the Mustangs the win.

Stephen Roberson had a team-leading four shots, while Akeil Barrett and Cristian Mata each had three shots, and Omar Mata and Tony Rocha had two attempts for TU. Mark Pais logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save.

The Golden Hurricane had a 16-7 lead in shots, including a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 3-1 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Monday, Oct. 8th against Nebraska Omaha beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
