A final salute took place on Thursday for a Tulsa Marine who went missing in World War II.

The remains of Second Lt. Walter Vincent were interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.

Vincent and six others disappeared during a training mission in the South Pacific in 1944.

The remains of Vincent and his crew members were buried in one casket with full military honors.

The wreckage of the plane was discovered in the 1980s, but it took decades to recover it. The remains were identified through DNA testing this summer.
