American Airlines is now taking extra steps to keep the seats grounded to the floors of its 757 jetliners.

Mechanics will install additional locking devices to the 48 planes under scrutiny.

Of the 48, six had poorly-installed seat clamps.

On three, the seats came loose mid-flight.

The repairs are expected to be finished by Saturday.
