Tulsa Sets New Record For Early Freeze

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa set a new record for the earliest freeze ever as Sunday morning's low dipped to 32 degrees at about 6:30, according to News On 6 Meteorologist Dick Faurot.

"And that was despite the lingering cloud cover that never did really clear out," Faurot said in his weather blog.

The clouds and a light northerly wind will keep the daytime highs reaching only the low-mid 50s.

"The rest of the coming week will be much warmer," he said. "Sunny skies and southerly winds of 10-15 mph should push temperatures well into the 60s for Monday afternoon followed by daytime highs in the 70s for Tuesday."

There should be a slight chance of storms late in the day Thursday with increasing rain chances Friday and Saturday.
