Twenty local agencies are coming together to help some of Oklahoma's less fortunate, Wednesday.
As a part of World Homeless Action Day, volunteers met at the Iron Gate soup kitchen at Trinity Episcopal Church to hand out basic necessities that most people take for granted.
Tables were set up with blankets, sleeping bags, flashlights—anything that could help a person in need.
"It was our way of bringing all these agencies together, to allow our guests that are homeless and hungry, or who are at risk of homelessness, to see the resources that are available, all in one place," said Tanya Moore, Iron Gate's Social Services Coordinator.
Currently more than 700 people are homeless in Tulsa. One in seven are children.
