Tulsa Students See Special Matinee Performance At Opera

The Tulsa Opera hosted a special audience Tuesday at a free daytime performance, just for students.

Students from elementary through high school packed the theater for "The Daughter of the Regiment."

The two-hour kids-only show was part of an outreach program made possible through fundraising.

After the show, the kids got to meet with several of the cast members.

One student from Saint Pious said the opera was different than she thought it would be.

"I didn't think it would be so loud, or that long, but I liked it. It was a good experience,' said 8th grader Jaqui Fernandez.

There are still two more shows this week at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, on Friday and Sunday.
