The Oklahoma City Thunder has just one or two spots on the roster up for grabs, but the competition for those spots has been fierce and heated.

Tuesday night, the Thunder got its first win of the preseason, 120-98 over the Charlotte Bobcats, thanks to the efforts of newcomers, and that handful of players fighting for a roster spot.

Andy Rautins led the Thunder with 20 points, including 4-for-7 from three-point range, while first round draft pick Perry Jones III had 17 points on 8-for-10 shooting. Daniel Orton had 13 points off the bench for OKC.

Serge Ibaka scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 28 minutes.

As a team, the Thunder shot 64 percent from the field, and 53 percent from three-point range. Every player but Cole Aldrich scored for the Thunder.

The Thunder rested seven players, including James Harden, Thabo Sefolosha, and Kendrick Perkins with injuries. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant each played 26 minutes, more than either had played in the first two preseason games. Durant scored 13, while Westbrook chipped in 11.

Ben Gordon led the Bobcats with 21 points, while former Lakers point guard Ramon Sessions had 18. Former Thunder center Byron Mullens had 16 with a surprising 4-for-10 outing from three-point range.

The Thunder have two more games in Oklahoma this week, taking on Phoenix in Tulsa at the BOK Center Friday night before returning back to OKC to face Denver Sunday night. Both games are set for 7 p.m. tips.
