TULSA, Oklahoma -

It's considered one of the biggest dangers on Oklahoma roads - texting while driving. AAA says drivers who text are 23 times more likely to get into a wreck.

On Monday, advocates with Drive Aware Oklahoma turned out to show their support for a new bill that would completely ban texting for all drivers. They say current Oklahoma law isn't comprehensive enough, and that the new bill would make our roads even safer.

"It's going to ban texting while driving for drivers of all ages, instead of the one that we have right now, which is just drivers 16 and a half and younger," said Cole Inhofe, Booker T. Washington sophomore.

"We need something a lot more effective than that."

A recent study found one person in seven admits to texting while driving.
