The Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools says he will no longer talk about the A-F school grading system, which resulted in about half of Tulsa's schools getting a "D".

Dr. Keith Ballard is sending home a letter to parents Friday that says the grading system is "arbitrary and capricious" and "does not represent the work being done in our schools."

In his letter, Superintendent Ballard highlights positive milestones for TPS, and says that school principals will soon be communicating more about each school's specific grade.

Seven of only 10 failing grades for schools statewide were issued to Tulsa Public Schools.

Earlier Friday, Dr. Ballard appeared on News On 6's Six in the Morning program to talk about the report card.
