TULSA, Oklahoma -

Get rid of your junk for free this weekend at the Quarry Landfill, 13740 East 46th Street North. The City of Tulsa is holding its Free Landfill Days Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28.

The Quarry Landfill, located about a mile and a half east of Highway 169 on 46th Street North, will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tulsa residents - those who can produce a City of Tulsa utility bill or a valid driver's license with an address within the city limits - can dispose of unwanted items.

Exceptions include objects containing Freon like air conditioners and refrigerators. There will also be a $2.50 fee for discarded tires with rim sizes up to 19.5 inches. For larger tires, the fee is $3.50 per tire. Motorcycle and smaller tires cost $1 to dispose of, covering the state disposal and recycling fees.

The City asks that loads in trucks and trailers be secured and covered so trash doesn't blow onto roads creating a safety hazard.

For more information about Free Landfill Days, call 918-596-9777.
