Friends, family, and fellow troopers gathered today, to dedicate a dozen miles of Highway 75 in William "Bill" McClendon's name.

McClendon was killed in a wreck in 2006, while on the job as a highway patrolman.

Lieutenant George Brown was McClendon's partner, and says he admired his work ethic and patriotism.

"Actually had an event one day when I told him how much I admire how he was able to get the bad guys," Brown said. "He stuck his hand on my shoulder and said 'Hey, we all do different things.'"

Now, signs bearing his name dot the highways he used to protect, just south of the Tulsa County line.
