TULSA, Oklahoma -

Do some fall cleaning with the help of the Metropolitan Environmental Trust. The Met will collect hazardous waste and household pollutants from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. November 3-4 at the Fairgrounds.

The event helps Tulsa residents dispose of unwanted chemicals like fertilizers, pesticides, cleaning agents, medication, oil-based paints, ammunition, anti-freeze and motor oil.

Tires, latex paint and commercial waste are not accepted.

"It's important to clear your house of these chemicals in order to make your home and community a safer place," said Michael Patton, executive director at The Met.

Patton recommends residents go through their garages, sheds, cabinets and closets to find hazardous materials they can get rid of. Items with labels that read "caution, hazardous, danger or toxic" should be brought to the event for safe disposal.

The waste will be collected at the Fairgrounds Gate 7 by the old Drillers Stadium off 15th and Sandusky.
