My 2 Cents: Harden Traded To Houston Rockets

It wasn't bad enough that Notre Dame was putting away the Sooners late Saturday night, but then my phone went off with a text alert that our beloved Thunder kids had been broken up.

If you're not a basketball fan, bear with me on this.

My wife wasn't an NBA fan at all until the Thunder got here, and now she refers to them as "her boys."

So losing James Harden, for thousands of Oklahomans was like losing a favorite son.

He was Oklahoma City's first draft pick, and silky smooth play and his beard of biblical proportions, made him a fan favorite.

Harden himself was apparently stunned by the trade, even though the Thunder warned him that they'd made their final and best offer.

Shortly after it was announced, James Harden tweeted out this statement:

"I would love to Thank Oklahoma City for 3 amazing years! Teammates and Fans were thee best. The love will always be there. Thanks Again."

And with that he was gone.

Oklahoma City's never had a star, an international celebrity really, walk away from the love to make a bit more money somewhere else... kind of hurt our feelings I think.
