TULSA, Oklahoma -

For the next three months, the City of Tulsa's new residential refuse and recycling program will not be charging for yard waste collection.

Types of waste include organic or garden materials such as leaves, grass, plants, branches and hedge trimmings.

Officials say "Green Waste" stickers will not be needed, but all waste must be bagged in transparent bags or bundled and placed at the curb.

Yard waste placed in non-transparent bag will not be collected.

The City of Tulsa says residents can purchase the transparent bags at area Ace Hardware stores, Best Electric Hardware store, Home Depot and Lowes stores.

The city says residents may also dispose of yard waste at no cost by taking the waste to the City of Tulsa's Green Waste Facility located at 10401 East 56th Street North. The site is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

A current driver's license with a Tulsa address is requested for admittance, and residents may drop off green waste free of charge year-round.
