TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa area residents have got one more free chance to get rid of any household cleaners, fertilizer and other pollutants you need to throw away.

This weekend is The Met's "Fairgrounds Pollutant Collection."

Tulsa County residents as well as several surrounding cities like Claremore and Coweta can drop off pretty much anything that sits under the kitchen sink, in the garage or the medicine cabinet.

Items being accepted include household cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, automotive fluids, cooking oil, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, small ammunition under .50 caliber, smoke alarms, aerosols, paints, hobby paints, oil-based paint, stain, pool chemicals, medications and items containing mercury.

Items NOT being accepted include commercial waste, latex paint, tires, computers, radioactive materials, dioxins, pressurized gas cylinders, explosives and water-reactive chemicals.

"If you have young children, there's a chance of poisoning so if you have an opened container, it's really important to get rid of it, use it all or give it to us and we'll make sure it's disposed of properly," said Annie Brady with MET.

The Met, or The Metropolitan Environmental Trust will be collecting unwanted chemicals again Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tulsa County fairgrounds at 15th and Sandusky or gate 7.
