Pickup Truck Rolls Over Onto Riverside Jogging Trail

It was a close call on Riverside Drive near 25th Street Wednesday afternoon, as a pickup truck struck the curb running parallel to Riverside Park and flipped over onto the walking trail.

Tulsa Police said a jogger saw the truck coming and fell trying to get out of the way. The jogger got some minor scrapes, but was otherwise not injured.

The driver of the truck was also not seriously injured, police said. They said the driver didn't appear to be intoxicated and was lucky not to be hurt any worse than she was.

Police said the vehicle also struck an electrical box, providing lights for the jogging trail, so those lights may be out Tuesday evening.

Traffic was backed up for a time while TPD officers and emergency crews cleared the scene of the accident.
