MANNFORD, Oklahoma -

Five people were injured in an apartment fire in Mannford Monday evening.

Crews worked to put out the fire, which started just before 6 p.m. at 254 Hinton Boulevard, at Salt Creek Apartments.

Mannford officials said five people were injured in the fire.

One, a 58-year-old woman, was transported by EMSA in serious condition to an area hospital with second and third degree burns over 28 percent of her body.

Officials said four other people were burned while helping pull people out of the building, and that they were taken to a hospital in a personal vehicle.

Four units were destroyed.

The state Fire Marshal will be at the apartment Tuesday to investigate the cause of the fire.
