Police arrested two people after a neighbor's surveillance camera allegedly recorded one of them burglarizing a house in southwest Oklahoma City.

The victim called police November 13 to report someone had broken into his home in the 1000 block of S.W. 101st Street, near S.W. 104th Street and Western. The man's home had been burglarized just a couple of weeks earlier, so he installed a motion-sensitive camera inside the house.

When an officer watched the video, he saw the suspect walking through the home carrying a red duffel bag. The victim said the suspect appeared to be his neighbor, 20-year-old Derek Cole Adams.

Police went next door and spoke to Adams' mother. They showed her the video, and she identified the suspect seen in the victim's house as her son.

Police waited for Adams to return home from work and arrested him. Police said he denied burglarizing the home, and claimed he went to his father's house that day to spend time with his cousin, 19-year-old Justin James Boling. Adams said the two stayed at his father's house until later in the afternoon.

The officer then told Adams he had video of him burglarizing the house. Adams was booked into the Oklahoma County jail two counts of second-degree burglary. Police also arrested Boling on the same complaint.
