Both are being held on complaints of murder and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon in a September homicide. Police found 23-year-old Jonathan Patton's body inside a home near SE 134th and Choctaw Road in Oklahoma City on September 10.
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics' Human Trafficking Unit, the Custer County Sheriff's Office, working with Oklahoma City police developed information regarding the homicide while investigating the disappearance of JaRay Wilson of Weatherford.
That information stemmed from a potential witness, who revealed to investigators that Paz and Southerland went to a home near SE 134 and Choctaw to rob the homeowner, but wound up shooting and killing Patton instead.
