Montgomery County Man Pleads Guilty To Starting Coffeyville Building Fire

WICHITA, Kansas -

A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for arson stemming from a January 2012 fire in downtown Coffeyville.

Jimmy Foster, 66, of Coffeyville pleaded guilty Monday in a Wichita federal court to one count of arson of a commercial building.

In his plea, Foster admitted that he set fire to a building at 217 West 8th Street. The building was occupied by a store called Butterfly Kisses.

The fire destroyed the building.

A Coffeyville firefighter had to be rescued after he fell through a second floor of the building.

A Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigation led to Foster's arrest.
