Police said a patron at a Tulsa fast food restaurant robbed the employees at gunpoint Tuesday evening.

Tulsa Police said a scruffy looking man came into the Popeye's Chicken near Pine Street and Peoria Avenue, at about 8:55 p.m., ordered some food and sat down in the dining room to eat.

The employees locked the doors when the store closed and let the man continuing eating.

When the man asked them to unlock the doors so he could leave, he pulled a gun, announced that it was a robbery and asked for a manager, saying he wanted into the safe.

The employees did as they were instructed, police said, lying on the ground while the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were 12 employees in the restaurant. No one was harmed.

Tulsa Police say the suspect was a white or Hispanic male, 30 years of age, 5'08"-5'10", 160-180 pounds, wearing a black beanie cap and a brown leather jacket.
