BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

A Broken Arrow woman said she lost an entire family when her brother was killed in July.

Alex Beltran was stabbed to death in his Broken Arrow home.

Beltran's wife, Elizabeth, was arrested and the family said it hasn't seen the couple's five children in months.

Beltran's family feels justice has been denied.

They don't like that his wife was charged with manslaughter instead of murder, that her bond was set at $35,000 and that she's allowed to live in California with their daughters.

Beltran's family said he was a man who loved his family, worked hard to provide for them, was willing to help others and had overcome a lot.

"He did everything he could to be a good man, a good person, a good citizen," his sister Naomi Bermudez said.

She said Alex and 31-year-old Elizabeth were barely into their teens when they fell in love and had their first child.

She said they got on the right track after graduating from the teen challenge program and eventually moved to Oklahoma to raise their five daughters.

Bermudez said the couple were extremely close knit, then a phone call on July 14 changed everything.

Alex was dead.

"It was like my heart dropped," Bermudez said.

A report says officers found Alex Beltran lying in the bedroom, with stab wounds to the chest and stomach and his wife Elizabeth, sitting calmly in the garage.

She told officers, "I just grabbed the first thing I could find and stabbed him," according to the report.

Elizabeth Beltran was booked into jail for second-degree murder but then charged with manslaughter.

She has pleaded not guilty.

Alex Beltran's family said he didn't deserve to die.

"She has all these things she's come up with that we don't believe as a family, but even if they are true, you don't murder someone," Bermudez said.

When Elizabeth Beltran was released on bond and allowed to go to California, she was reunited with her children who were being cared for by a relative there.

Burmudez feels like she's not only lost a brother, but a whole family.

"I feel there needs to be justice, I feel we've been robbed, robbed of my brother, robbed of my nieces, robbed altogether," Burmudez said. "Everyone seems to be like, she is going to get away with this."

Elizabeth Beltran is scheduled to be back in Tulsa County for a bond hearing on Friday morning. Her trial is set for March 11.
