Oklahoma gave a warm welcome to the fifth year of Winterfest.

From bands to horse and carriage rides, and of course, the very popular skating rink, Winterfest is packed with all sorts of affordable holiday fun for families.

Signs of the holidays scatter throughout the BOK Center.

"It is a one-stop shop and it's very enjoyable," shopper Kim Wimmer said.

It's all part of Winterfest's second annual Holiday Market.

There were dozens of venders on hand, showing off their local goods and gifts just in time for Christmas.

"We've already found two or three gifts that we think will be perfect for the holidays," Pam Smith said.

And with each purchase, shoppers are helping to pump money back into the Green Country economy.

"You're buying from people who are paying for college tuition, making their house payment or just feeding their family," Claremore's Michelle Fero said.

To take a break from the shopping, just step outside where there's enough fun to go around.

With their biggest fans in the front row, ballerinas with Jasinksi Dance Academy gave their performance of the Nutcracker.

Then there's the ice skating rink.

It was packed, a pleasant change from last week.

Winterfest then, was basically swimfest, the was rink closed and watered down thanks to that warm December weather.

The cool temps came just in time for Ashlyn Winters...

She came on Saturday with seven friends, celebrating her 11th birthday.

"I was worried it was still going to be water when it was my birthday party," Winters said.

It wasn't their first time to lace up the ice skates, but it had been a while.

"At first, I was really not that good at skating, but then I got better, so it's more fun just skating around the rink."

Selah Hunter said: "I know how to roller skate so it's kind of easy.

And whether they're couple skating or even snowball throwing, the best advice these girls can give: Take it easy on the ice.
