Food Bank volunteers enjoyed a meal at Oklahoma Joe's Friday afternoon.
TULSA, Oklahoma -
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma we be able to extend its reach this holiday season, thanks to a generous donation from the Sodexo Foundation.
Friday they presented a $1,000 check to the Food for Kids backpack program at Oklahoma Joe's in downtown Tulsa Friday.
That money will help purchase non-perishable food items that will be handed out to students who need them most.
The donation is expected to help feed more than 2,000 area students who need food outside of the meals they get at school.
The Sodexo Foundation works nationwide to provide nutritious meals for children in need.
